Transition Chesterfield

You may already be aware of Transition Chesterfield, a local group set up to reduce reliance on oil and fossil fuels, and tackle climate change on a local level.

The group is very active throughout the year in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas, having Potato Days, Harvest Swaps, Swish days to swap clothes, DVD’s and books, planting fruit trees in parks and public places and organising skill share workshops on subjects as varied as wild food foraging, bicycle maintenance, food preservation and wine making.   They also run a chicken keeping discussion forum and are involved in rag rugging and fabric recycling projects.

They have many long term projects, workshops and information days planned for the coming year, so if you have a mo, go take a look and see what they’re up to.
