Pagan Who’s who 18: Dr Belinda Winder

The Pagan Who’s who series contains information about current and recent notaries which have contributed to, or influenced the modern pagan scene.  Some names you may know already, some you may not, but all these people are dedicated and hard-working in their own particular specialised fields.  For pagan, spiritual, occult or faith matters who from the last generation influences and inspires you?

Dr Belinda Winder is the current vice-president of the Pagan Federation,  and a Reader in Forensic Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in the psychology of sex offenders.  She is the current Head of the Sex Offenders, Crime and Misconduct Research Unit, which does exactly what is says on the tin, and a member of the Prison Service Regional Ethics Committee.

As current Vice President of the Pagan Federation, she has been quoted in a recent article about a tribunal being raised for the Pagan Federation to gain charitable status.

She has written many academic papers around her psychological specialist research, but there is one which may be of interest published in the Irish Journal of Psychology 2009, volume 30: Positive Aspects of Fire: fire in ritual and religion.
