Asatru Study Group Reminder

Hail and welcome all!

Just a reminder that the next meeting of the Asatru Study Group will be this coming Saturday, 1-3 pm at Chandler’s Bar, St Mary’s Gate, Chesterfield.

Copies of the texts will be provided, so all you have to bring is yourself and at least a passing interest in discussing Viking literature.  We’re starting with a basic introduction to the subject, and hopefully having discussions on different translations of the Havamal, verses 1-10.  Fret not if all that didn’t make much sense: we’ll take it nice and easy to begin with. :o)

If you’d like any further information, please contact Amalasuntha directly, or leave a comment below.

  1. Hi, I am a practising pagan in south Sheffield. I am trying to find a suitable forum where I could ask likemided people if they would be interested in setting up a ritual only moot in the South Sheffield North Derbyshire area.

Not sure if this is the best place to post such a request but I cannot find anywhere else. Can you help?

  2. Hail and Welcome Andrew 🙂
I’ll put your enquiry up as a post on the main page in the next few days, followers will be sent an individual copy and all our readers will see it. You may just get some replies back 🙂
In the meantime, you’re welcome at our moots and gatherings. The next moot in Chesterfield is next Tuesday evening, 10th April, when (as far as I know), the discussion and talk topic is Power Animals. We meet upstairs at the New Inn, Mansfield Road, Hasland at 7pm-ish onwards.
    Waes Hael,

    • Amalasuntha, Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I look forward to any replies I get.
I would love to join your moot in Chesterfiled however I cannot make the next meeting on 10/4/12 as I am in Cornwall enjoying some wonderful stone circles.
Can you tell me when your May meeting is.

      Blessed Be

      • Stone circles in Cornwall?! You lucky thing, we’re not jealous here in the slightest 😉 I’ve queued your request and contact details for a post in the next few days, hopefully you should get some positive replies!
Our May moot is scheduled for Tuesday 8th May, same place and time as usual. We don’t have a topic for discussion just yet, but there’ll probably be one organised at some point. You’re just in time for Hasfest too, it’s 18th-20th May this year and is an annual free pagan flavoured festival. You’re welcome to both the moot and Hasfest if you can make it 🙂
