The sky’s the limit – Exmoor National Park designated a Dark-Sky Reserve

For all those who like to spend an odd evening or two gazing up at the stars and contemplating  all the important things in life, and additionally happen to find themselves in Exmoor National Park (bit of a stretch, I know) you might just be thrilled to find out that it’s just been designated a Dark-Sky Reserve.  It’s only the second place on earth, and the first in Europe, to gain such a title from the International Dark Sky Association, who look at the problems of light pollution and the best places to go and star gaze. The Association is based in America, but is worth a look for the sheer amount of information held on the site.
Back in Exmoor, the National Park Authority are going to be running a series of events and activities as part of a national-wide Dark-Sky programme this winter.
