Lectures and Shows 2011

Just in case you fancy a little bit of something different over the coming months, there’s a few events on at the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield, which may peak your interest:

Jan 12th – Northumbria, it’s wonders past and present – a lecture by Clive Hart – 7.30pm.  Tickets (£5.70 (£4.30 conc.)
Feb 2nd – Plants for Bees – a lecture by Margaret Edge – 7.30pm.  Tickets (£5.70 (£4.30 conc.)
March 2nd – Life over 1000 Feet – a lecture by Keith Offord – 7.30pm.  Tickets (£5.70 (£4.30 conc.)
March 16th – The Living Seas – a lecture by Ed Green –  7.30pm.  Tickets (£5.70 (£4.30 conc.)
March 23rd – Wildlife of the Pennines – a lecture by Gordon Yates – 7.30pm.  Tickets (£5.70 (£4.30 conc.)
March 30th – The Red Wolves of Ethiopia – a lecture by Pollyanna Pickering – 7.30pm.  Tickets (£5.70 (£4.30 conc.)
June 16th  – Derek Acorah – 7.30pm Tickets £19.50 (well, even ex-TV mediums have to make a living ;p)
July 12th – Macbeth – (Pomegranate in the Park) 7.30pm Tickets £13.00 (adult) £8.00 (child) (being performed outside! – take a rug and a mac in case of rain!)

At Sheffield City Hall, The Jungle Book is being performed from 31st May – 4th June 2011.  Tickets from £11.50
In Derby there are the following:

Feb 5th – Mills and Chimneys: Songs from Derbyshire – The Darwin Suite, 8pm tickets £8
Feb 18th – The Imagined Village – The Great Hall 8pm tickets £19.50 (£17.50 concs.)
Feb 27th and 28th – Chinese State Circus presents: Mulan – The Great Hall – tickets £12 – £26
Although it’s a little out of our way, Stomp is currently playing at the Ambassadors Theatre, London, until the 10th April 2011. tickets £29 – £49.50

Mugenkyo are playing at the Edinburgh Beltaine Festival on 30th April, at the Halifax Piece Hall on August 14th, a little closer to home in Mansfield at the Palace Theatre on October 19th, and Wakefield’s Theatre Royal on 22nd October
