More Snow Pics!

So, the snow is still with us, it’s still cold and although it’s causing disruption and inconvenience for most peoples (digging and de-icing the car out every morning for one) it’s nice to be able to appreciate the beauty of it too – even though we’re taking the option of appreciating it from indoors, through a nice double glazed window, with the central heating on…

We did venture out this morning for a little while, with a handy camera for some more snowy pictures:

Silver Birches in Snow

It’s funny: I always think of silver birches as having white bark, until you see them against snow…

Feather in the Snow

This is my favourite one of those we took this morning: the feather was tiny, and just laid in the middle of a snow covered path, very easily missable…

Hawthorn Berries

Despite the birds best efforts, there are still a few hawthorn berries to be found in the hedgerows. These are surrounded by holly.

Stacked Bricks in Snow

We don’t usually take pictures of man made things, but these stacked bricks seemed to be very out of place under the snow. Bit of a contrast, like pineapples in winter.

This is a close up of the shot above, I like the shapes that the ice makes 🙂

  1. Glorious pics!
I love tactile things in pictures, the snowy logs are wonderful. When I work out the techy-know-how, I’ll post last weekends snowy pics from Sherwood Forest, trees, tress and then some more trees tehe
